If you buy one of the recommended laptops by clicking on the link to the retailer’s product page, we receive a small percentage of the laptop’s price as part of what’s called an "Affiliate Program." This in no way increases the cost of the laptop to you; it comes out of the retailer’s profits. This site will never make us wealthy, but hopefully it will pay for its own hosting costs and maybe cover a bit of the hours I have spent building it and keeping it updated.
If for some reason you oppose affiliate marketing, or just don’t want us to get any money, feel free to copy the name of the laptop, go to the cheapest retailer, and search for the laptop by hand. But like I said - it doesn’t cost you any more to just follow the link.
Even though different retailers pay a larger or smaller percentage, based on their affiliate program, So, What Should I Get? will never steer you towards one retailer over another based on anything else but that retailer’s own reputation for quality customer service.
Probably because we just haven’t gotten to it yet! It takes some work to get our database talking to those of retailers, so we’re starting with the big guys and going from there.
Or, it could be because the retailer’s customer service track record is just not up to snuff. No, guy from discount-laptops-4-less.biz, we are not linking to you.
